Ride a Fire Truck to School - Drawing

Monday, October 25, 2010  Kyle Jellinek, a 2nd grader at Round Hill Elementary school, got the ride of his life Monday – a ride to school on a fire truck.  Kyle was one of two winners in the Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company’s “Ride a Fire Truck to School” drawing.  Kyle, his little brother, mother, father and grandmother were picked up by FF Brad Quin at their home and driven to RHES in Engine 602.

The drawing is a part of the PVFC’s “Sundaes on Saturday” and “Open House” programs each year, said Quin, also PVFC’s membership chair.

Current or Upcoming Events

Wednesday, September 1, 2010  The Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company will be embarking on our Annual - Door to Door Fund Drive Campaign, starting Wednesday September 8th 2010. This is a fund raising campaign the Company has undergone in the past and we are revisiting this year. Over the past few years we have simply written and mailed a letter hoping to get our message of a strong volunteer company out to the public in hopes of financial support from our community. This year we are going back to our roots; meeting the public we serve. Letting our community know we care about the work we do and the people we protect.    This will be a 10 to 12 week campaign that will end in mid November. The people on the street are operational and associate members of the Fire Company. They will be in uniform and have proper ID. We will not be out every night, as we have a set schedule for each crew to work. We will start in the evenings, after 6pm and end as darkness makes it necessary.   If you have any questions please email Robin Dryden, Treasurer, at rdryden@purcellvillefire.org.
