Duty Crews

Our volunteer firefighters are assigned into Duty Crews. There are currently six Duty Crews at PVFC, with each crew responsible for a 6pm to 6am shift once every six days. This allows for rotation of responsibility so that coverage of the week days is fairly distributed. New members generally come to dinner every Friday night for six weeks so they have a chance to meet the members of all duty crews before being assigned to a specific Duty Crew. The day shifts (6am to 6pm) is currently being staffed by career firefighters provided by Loudoun County Fire and Rescue. They are divided into two shifts.
Member Requirements

Members have to meet the following requirements to join:
  • At least 16 years old
  • Pass a physical Exam
  • Pass a background check
